Bemidji State football ranked No. 23 in national poll, men’s hockey and women’s hockey teams receive votes in national polls

There are three Bemidji State teams in national polls this week.

The Bemidji State football team is back in the American Football Coaches Association Top 25 and are ranked No. 23 this week following last Saturday’s 20-7 homecoming win over Concordia-St. Paul. The Beavers host MSU, Moorhead at Chet Anderson Stadium on Saturday at 1 p.m.

BSU is in the the top 25 for the second time this season. BSU was No. 24 in September after a 3-0 start, but dropped out after a loss to Minnesota-Duluth.

The Bemidji State men’s hockey team received 24 votes in the national poll this week following weekend’s season-opening split at then No. 2 Miami. The Beavers defeated Miami 5-3 on Friday and lost 3-2 on Saturday. BSU entered the season unranked and Miami dropped to No. 5. The Beavers travel to No. 7 Colorado College this weekend.

The Bemidji State women’s hockey team received two votes in the national poll. BSU lost one vote from last week’s poll following last weekend’s road trip at Ohio State. BSU tied OSU 4-4 and lost in a shootout Friday and lost 5-3 on Saturday. The Beavers travel to Maine this weekend.
