Before I get to lines for tonight’s game I wanted to empty my notebook from Friday night.
Aaron McLeod was a difference maker for Bemidji State in the 6-6 tie against St. Cloud State. He scored BSU’s first and last goal of the game.
I asked head coach Tom Serratore after the game what he thought of McLeod’s game and he said this:
“Aaron McLeod has been our best player this year I think because he has so much depth to his game. He’s very good on face-offs, he forechecks hard, he makes plays, he’s reliable defensively. He’s just a guy who has come into his own.”
Also of note from Friday’s game was the bench injury to BSU trainer Bill Crews. He took a puck to the forehead during the start of the second period and had to leave the ice to get stitches – five to be exact.
Crews returned to the bench with a small bandage and worked on some of the BSU players after the game. He was dubbed the ‘toughest trainer in college hockey’ by coach Serratore after the game.
As for Saturday’s lines for Bemidji State, there’s just a few minor changes:
Brance Orban moves up to the third line from the fourth line to play right wing. That moves Darcy Findlay to the left wing on the fourth line. Freshman Danny Mattson will play right wing on the fourth line in place of Mitch Cain.
