The Up North Sports Report is a blog produced by Bemidji Pioneer newspaper sports reporter Eric Stromgren.
Most of what you will find here is sports reporting from the Bemidji, Minnesota area and other sporting events in Minnesota. You’ll see blog postings, photography and videos.
I have worked at the Pioneer since 2007 and I cover mostly Bemidji State University athletics. You can probably find me walking the sidelines with my camera in hand or in press boxes typing away a story on deadline.
I have lived in Minnesota my entire life: I grew up in west Duluth, graduated with a communications degree from St. Cloud State, worked my first professional job in Austin and covered junior hockey in Owatonna before moving back up north to Bemidji.
My favorite sport is hockey, but I like baseball and basketball as well. I’m an equal-opportunity sports reporter. I enjoy covering the teams and people from prep to professional.
